Many thanks for your help, I now have a working system and hopefully my findings and quick write-up may be useful to someone at some point.>Download patch for 64-bit version ( 184M It also seems to be the case that you can use hyphenated switches as well as forward-slash switches - I didn't see any difference in using eitherĮviews8Patch_071713.exe -f1C:\temp\eviews\setup.issĪnd yes, both patches seemed to work in this manner, so I think it was my lack of expressly stating where the setup.iss file was that was breaking the install. If you do need a log file, then you can use the /f2 switchĮviews8Patch_071713.exe /f1C:\temp\eviews\setup.iss /f2C:\temp\eviews\eviewsinstalllog.txtĪgain, do not leave any spaces between the /f2 and the path to the file

However, it does work if you explicitly state the location of the setup.iss fileĮviews8Patch_071713.exe /f1C:\temp\eviews\setup.issįor reference purposes for those who may not be familiar with installshield, there is no space between the f1 and the file location, the file location MUST follow directly after the /f1 Running the patch file as follows does not seem to work Having Version=v7.00 or Version=7.00 does not seem to make any difference to the setup.iss file.įor me at least, the installation log file was NOT created automatically for the patch installation (or at least not in the same location as the installation files themselves). I've run a few tests on my patch installation and have made the following findings: Strangely the 64-bit patch seems to work without problem. When I run Eviews 8, it states we are on standard Edition Build. The process appears in the Windows Task Manager with a 0 CPU, it sits there for a while and then disappears again.

I'm having a few problems silently installing the Eviews 8 32-bit patch number 071113 I've recorded a setup.iss using the standard -r switch, but the silent install does not appear to be doing anything.
